For 19 years, Sooch Foundation has explored a myriad of educational opportunities for the underserved. Since 2013, we have focused on non-traditional students with an eye toward better job, career and wage attainment.
What We Do
Here at Sooch Foundation, our goal is to improve the lives of those in our community, right here in Austin, Texas!
Many people, especially of lower socio-economic status, are not given the educational opportunities that were given to the more fortunate of us. Due to this fact, Sooch Foundation aids organizations that improve lives through education.
We help make the goals of organizations in the Austin area a reality by supporting those who promote education and opportunities for all.
One of our most important contributions to the Austin community was our aid in the development of the Lifeworks and Sooch Foundation Resource Center. The Center houses workforce services, a mental health clinic, youth development programs, and trainings to aid teenagersRead more
What the Community Thinks
With Sooch support, we are able to provide the tools necessary for at-risk youth to earn credentials that will allow them to eradicate the poverty cycle within their family and embark upon a successful career pathway with tremendous upward mobility potential. The Sooch Foundation clearly understands the importance of strategically focusing on supporting underserved populations through job skills training that will ultimately help individuals exit out of poverty and become successful citizens. We are excited to partner with the Sooch Foundation and look forward to continuously transforming lives throughout our community.
The Sooch Foundation Resource Center grant will allow LifeWorks to increase capacity and expand services for lower-income East Austin residents, serving more than 10,000 youth and families annually.
Organizations We Help
Over the years, we've helped many organizations like those pictured here to the right such as Austin CAN Academy, Skillpoint Alliance, and the Austin Community College transitions class in partnership with AOYC. Check out their work and our other grantees.
